They celebrated their first wedding anniversary with a romantic dinner near the Gumdrop Tree.
"This is more than a Gumdrop Tree," smiled Cricket looking around. "It is a Gumdrop Garden!"
Patrick loved the sound of that. "I believe you are right, Mrs. O'Malley. It is a Gumdrop Garden indeed!"
"So much has happened in the past year," said Patrick thoughtfully. "It has been so quiet since HT and Scruffy earned their wings across the Rainbow Bridge."
"I was thinking the same thing," said Cricket. "It's been too quiet."
"We will never furget the terriers," said Patrick. "They lived a very long time."
"I wonder what it is like over the rainbow bridge," thought Cricket outloud.
"I know what it is like at the end of a rainbow," he said. "At the end of the rainbow is a treasure like you!"
Cricket giggled. "Mr. O'Malley," she smiled, "you are so romantic."
"On this very spot where we said "I do" one year ago, I want to tell you again how much I love you, Mrs. O'Malley," said Patrick, handing Cricket a gift.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it!" smiled Cricket. "It is beautiful."
"The paws are holding the heart, like you hold mine! You must never lose it," he said, "it's very valuable."
"Priceless!" smiled Cricket. "Just like you!"
